Our day tours take you away from the hustle and bustle and give us opportunities to look closely at the fascinating winter wildlife and nature around us. Activity level

Easy: Suitable for all hikers and beginner snowshoers (Ascents of approx 400m) and walking time 4-5hrs
Medium: Previous hiking experience and sure-footedness necessary. You should be prepared for ascents of 500-700m and walking time 5-6hrs.

We will announce tours according to snow conditions in our Snowshoe WhatsApp Group. Upcoming tours for the week/ weekend will be announced in the WhatsApp group- including details of area, access, length and level. If you want to join the tour, then you just need to reply to the message to confirm your participation. Tour places will be allocated on a First Come, First Served basis.

Itinerary

We will decide the tour location according to conditions at the time, to get the best of the snow. The meeting point will be a point accessible by public transportation from Munich (Approx 1.5hrs) and car. From there we will fit the equipment and then head out on our tour.

Our tours will take us along snowy trails through forest, open snow-covered meadows with opportunities to get off-trail and make our own tracks. We will stop along the route for snacks, picnic and hot drinks. If there is a catered hut along the route we will let you know in the joining instructions.

Recommended equipment to bring:

Warm and waterproof Hiking Boots (Ankle support necessary)
Gloves (one thick pair and one thin pair)
Hat
Gaiters
Waterproof outer layers and warmer layers
Hot drink
Lunch and snacks
For Snowshoe tours where Avalanche Equipment is necessary: beacon, shovel and probe (LVS Kit) - available for rent from Deutscher Alpenverein or we can provide this too for an extra fee

Travel

Travel with group via public transport from Hauptbahnhof - organised via group in WhatsApp chat. Travel costs not included in price. From Munich we recommend getting the Bayern ticket. This costs €26 for one person, plus €8/person extra for every extra person you add on up to 5 people.
